Firecrawl alternative: what your agent gets.

The worked example uses Olostep. Firecrawl and ScrapeGraphAI are also available through TaskFuel from the same balance.

  • Read one page with Olostep

Request Markdown from one public URL. Our test returned the Python guide’s headings, code examples and links within the Markdown.

    $0.01 / page
  • Use Firecrawl through StableEnrich

Send the single URL supported by this tool. Your agent shows the price before it calls, and the request format differs from a direct Firecrawl integration.

    $0.0126 / page
  • Choose a format with ScrapeGraphAI

Ask for Markdown, HTML or other documented formats. The price shown covers Markdown from the public Python guide with default fetch settings.

Documentation extraction, tested.

We fetched Python’s virtual-environment guide so an agent could read its setup instructions. The response contained Markdown, section headings and the command examples from the source.

Good Questions.

What is a useful Firecrawl alternative for an AI agent?

Olostep and ScrapeGraphAI offer different extraction tools through TaskFuel. Our Olostep test returned a public documentation page as Markdown. Choose a tool by its supported formats and the output you need.

Can I use Firecrawl itself through TaskFuel?

Yes. Your agent pays from your TaskFuel balance, so there is nothing else to sign up for. The Firecrawl tool on this page scrapes one URL per request, while a direct Firecrawl account offers its full feature set.

Does Firecrawl have a free plan?

Firecrawl lists 1,000 credits per month on its Free plan, checked 30 October 2026. Its monthly Hobby plan lists $19 for 5,000 credits. If the free allowance and direct API fit your work, they may be enough.

Are these prices comparable to a Firecrawl subscription?

The direct plan buys a monthly credit allowance, while TaskFuel charges per request: our test extraction cost $0.01 on 30 October 2026. A lower number alone does not tell you which setup suits your workload. Your agent shows the price for your own request before it pays.

Can these tools crawl an entire website?

Providers may offer separate crawl APIs, which this page does not cover. Your agent can find a crawl tool and check its page limits and billing before starting it.

Can they handle JavaScript, private pages or blocked websites?

Our example used a public documentation page. Signed-in content, paywalls, blocked websites and JavaScript-heavy applications were not tested.

Is this a drop-in replacement for my Firecrawl integration?

Your agent can switch, but each tool has its own inputs and response format, so it adapts the request and parsing and keeps the source URL with the extracted text.

Your agent can do things it couldn’t this morning.
