Give your agent somewhere to put files

Your agent makes a report, a chart, a spreadsheet, and then tells you it's saved somewhere you can't reach. Through TaskFuel it uploads the file and hands you a link, for $0.005.

A hand-inked green drop locker takes a sheet with a bar chart through its front slot, and a perforated ticket printed with a chain-link symbol comes out of a side slot.

Your agent just built the thing. A PDF report, a CSV of competitor prices, a chart for tomorrow’s meeting. Then it says the file is at /tmp/output/report.pdf.

That path is on a machine you may never see. If the agent ran in the cloud, in CI, or on a server, the file is stuck there. If you want to send it to someone, you’re the one downloading and re-uploading it.

The usual fix is a storage account: a bucket, a key, a permission policy. Your agent can’t sign up for any of that, so the task stops and waits for you.

We asked an agent to share a small pricing CSV. It bought an upload slot, sent the file, and came back with a public URL:

Put pricing-comparison.csv somewhere I can download it and send me the link.

  • Found file hosting on TaskFuel: $0.005 for 7 days
  • Paid $0.005
  • Uploaded pricing-comparison.csv

Done. Here's your link. It works in any browser until Oct 19.

Half a cent for one file up to 10 MB, kept for seven days. The link opens in any browser, so you can paste it into Slack or an email without explaining anything.

Bigger files and longer links cost more. Each slot is one file:

File up to Kept 7 days Kept 6 months
10 MB $0.005 $0.02
100 MB $0.02 $0.20
1 GB $0.10 $2.00
5 GB $0.50 Not offered

A 7-day link to a file up to 10 MB can also be renewed a week at a time for $0.005, up to 30 days from the upload. Your agent sees the price before it pays, so it picks the tier that fits.

When TaskFuel is worth it

If you’re sitting at the same machine as your agent, you don’t need this. Open the file.

A free Google Drive or Dropbox account does the same job by hand, and for one file a week that’s fine. It stops being fine when the agent runs somewhere else, or when sharing the file is one step in a longer run and you’d rather not be the step.

Links are unguessable but public. Don’t upload anything you wouldn’t send by email.
