# Let Hermes Agent send the email.

Most steps in a coordinated task talk to other software. One of them has to talk to a person. That step is an email, 2¢, sent by the agent that ran the rest of the work.

Provider in the worked example: StableEmail.

Price shown for this route: 2¢ per email.

## What it can do

### Send an email

Send from StableEmail’s shared relay with text or HTML and up to five attachments.

Price: 2¢.

### Buy an inbox

Get an inbox for 30 days. Check the provider’s renewal terms before buying.

Price: $1.

### Send from your inbox

Send from an inbox you have purchased.

Price: 0.5¢.

### List and read messages

List messages and read their contents, including attachment links.

Price: 0.1¢ each.

### Buy a subdomain

Create inboxes under your own subdomain on stableemail.dev.

Price: $5.

### Manage and clean up

Manage inbox settings or request cancellation under the provider’s terms.

Price: Free.

## Connect your agent

Read the [Hermes Agent setup guide](https://taskfuel.ai/docs/setup-cli/).

Use one TaskFuel account and prepaid balance. Inspect the provider and request quote before a paid call, then review the returned response and recorded charge.

## When to use it

### The step where a person takes over.

A workflow runs until it needs a decision only someone else can make. Mail them the state it reached and what it needs, rather than stopping silently.

### One less integration to configure.

Email is usually the tool that needs its own account, its own key and its own domain check. Here it is one call priced like the rest.

### Send the result, not a pointer to it.

A summary in someone's inbox beats a link to a dashboard they will not open. Attachments and HTML are included.

## Questions

### Can Hermes Agent send emails?

Not on its own: it has no mail server behind it. Connect TaskFuel and sending becomes one tool call at 2¢, alongside whatever else the task is coordinating.

### Do I need a sending provider account?

No. One TaskFuel account and one prepaid balance covers it. TaskFuel pays the provider and bills your balance.

### What does an email cost?

2¢ to send. An inbox of its own is $1 for 30 days, sending from that inbox is 0.5¢, and reading a message is 0.1¢.

### Can it wait for a reply?

It can buy an inbox and read what arrives at 0.1¢ a message. There is no push: something has to check, so the task decides when to look.

### What if a send fails?

Upstream 4xx and 5xx responses are not charged. A successful provider response can still be charged when its answer is empty or unhelpful.
