# Real estate API

Property data for your agent, paid per call.

Let your agent estimate a home’s value, read a zip code’s market statistics or list homes for sale in a city.

The value estimate, zip code market lookup and listings search were each tested once. Rent estimates, sale and rental listings and property records are also available through RentCast and were not run in our tests.

Provider in the worked example: RentCast.

Price shown for this route: 3.3¢ per estimate.

## What it can do

### Value estimate

An estimated sale value with a range and comparable listings. Our test returned an estimate and 15 comparables.

Price: $0.033 / estimate.

### Market statistics

Sale and rental statistics for a zip code. Our test returned medians, listing counts and six months of history.

Price: $0.033 / lookup.

### Listings search

Homes for sale in a city. Our test returned 41 listings on the first page, each with a link to the original listing.

Price: $0.04 / page.

## A real example

Tested on 2026-10-30 through RentCast.

We asked for the value of RentCast’s own documentation example address. RentCast returned an estimate, a range and 15 comparable listings.

Your agent asked: Estimate the value of 5500 Grand Lake Dr, San Antonio, TX 78244

Returned in this test:

- Estimated value: $238,000
- Range: $207,000 to $268,000
- Property: 3 bed, 2 bath, 1,878 sq ft, built 1973
- Comparables: 15 listings

Charged in this test: $0.033.

One address. An automated estimate with comparable listings, not an appraisal.

## Try the API request

Use your TaskFuel API key as TASKFUEL_API_KEY in your terminal or server. Keep it out of browser code.

### 1. Check the price

This request checks the price without paying. This is the exact value estimate request from the test. Adding fields such as property type or comparable count changes the request.

```sh
curl --fail-with-body https://app.taskfuel.ai/v1/call \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $TASKFUEL_API_KEY" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data-binary @- <<'TASKFUEL_REQUEST'
{
  "url": "https://rentcast.mpp.paywithlocus.com/rentcast/value-estimate",
  "method": "POST",
  "body": {
    "address": "5500 Grand Lake Dr, San Antonio, TX 78244"
  },
  "dryRun": true
}
TASKFUEL_REQUEST
```

### 2. Run the request

Review amount_usd in the quote. To pay and run, change dryRun to false and add maxAmountUsd with that approved amount inside the same JSON object. Keep the inputs unchanged; this limit applies to one call.

### 3. Read the result

Read data.price, priceRangeLow and priceRangeHigh, then data.comparables for the listings behind the estimate.

## Connect your agent

Read the [setup guide](https://taskfuel.ai/docs/setup/) and choose the connection your agent supports.

Use one TaskFuel account and prepaid balance. Inspect the provider and request quote before a paid call, then review the returned response and recorded charge.

## When to use it

### Get a value range and the homes behind it.

Ask your agent for an estimate and its comparable listings.

### Read the market for a zip code.

Medians for sale prices, rents and days on market come with listing counts. Small zip codes have few listings, so a median can swing.

### List homes for sale in a city.

Our Austin search returned 41 listings on the first page out of 5,572 matches, each with a link to the original listing.

## Questions
