Price: $0.0125 / page.

## A real example

Tested on 2026-11-03 through JoinMassive.

We read the travel category of Books to Scrape, a public practice shop. JoinMassive returned the rendered page as Markdown with all 11 books, their prices and stock status.

Your agent asked: Read the Books to Scrape travel category and list each book with its price

Returned in this test:

- Books returned: 11, with price and stock status
- First book: It’s Only the Himalayas, £45.17, in stock
- Price range: £23.21 to £56.88
- Also in the Markdown: 87 links and 11 image references
- Three more providers: All returned the same 11 books and prices

Charged in this test: $0.0125.

One public shop page, read once by four providers.

## Try the API request

Use your TaskFuel API key as TASKFUEL_API_KEY in your terminal or server. Keep it out of browser code.

### 1. Check the price

This request checks the price without paying. These are the exact inputs of the JoinMassive read of the travel category.

```sh
curl --fail-with-body https://app.taskfuel.ai/v1/call \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $TASKFUEL_API_KEY" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data-binary @- <<'TASKFUEL_REQUEST'
{
  "url": "https://mpp.orthogonal.com/joinmassive/browser?url=https%3A%2F%2Fbooks.toscrape.com%2Fcatalogue%2Fcategory%2Fbooks%2Ftravel_2%2Findex.html&format=markdown",
  "method": "GET",
  "dryRun": true
}
TASKFUEL_REQUEST
```

### 2. Run the request

Review amount_usd in the quote. To pay and run, change dryRun to false and add maxAmountUsd with that approved amount inside the same JSON object. Keep the inputs unchanged; this limit applies to one call.

### 3. Read the result

The response body is the page as Markdown, with the 11 books, their prices and links. We sent only url and format; device, speed and anti-bot options exist.

## Connect your agent

Read the [setup guide](https://taskfuel.ai/docs/setup/) and choose the connection your agent supports.

Use one TaskFuel account and prepaid balance. Inspect the provider and request quote before a paid call, then review the returned response and recorded charge.

## When to use it

### Read a product list as data.

All four providers returned the 11 travel books with prices and stock status from one page.

### The output shapes differ.

JoinMassive and Notte returned Markdown with links, Firecrawl returned absolute links, and Serper’s scrape returned 954 characters of plain text without links or images.

### Scrape without a proxy subscription.

Each tool is one call paid from a TaskFuel balance, with no proxy pool or monthly scraping plan to set up.

## Questions

### Do I need an Oxylabs account?

No. Your agent pays from your TaskFuel balance, so there is nothing else to sign up for.

### What does a page scrape cost?

Our JoinMassive read cost $0.0125 on 3 November 2026. Oxylabs’ Scrape API starts at $0.50 per 1,000 results on plans from $30 a month, as published that day. Your agent shows the price for your own request before it pays.

### Is this cheaper than Oxylabs?

Not at volume. Oxylabs’ Scrape API starts at $0.50 per 1,000 results, against $12.50 per 1,000 for a JoinMassive read here. The TaskFuel providers suit occasional agent tasks, with no proxy or monthly plan.

### Can it scrape sites that block bots?

Oxylabs sells unblocking as part of its plans. On TaskFuel, JoinMassive lists anti-bot handling. Our test page was open, so we did not try it.
