# Let Cursor make the images.

Your component needs an image. Ask Cursor to make one that fits.

Provider in the worked example: StableStudio.

Price shown for this route: 3¢ per image.

## What it can do

### Generate an image

Choose an image model and resolution. Flux 2 Pro at 0.5 MP quoted 2¢ on 9 September 2026.

Price: 3–21¢.

### Edit an image

Use a supported edit endpoint to change an existing image. Check the model’s accepted inputs first.

### Generate a video

Request a video from a supported model. Duration and settings affect the quote.

Price: from 40¢.

### Convert an image to SVG

Convert a raster image to SVG. Inspect the paths before using it as a logo or icon.

## Connect your agent

Read the [Cursor setup guide](https://taskfuel.ai/docs/setup-cli/).

Use one TaskFuel account and prepaid balance. Inspect the provider and request quote before a paid call, then review the returned response and recorded charge.

## When to use it

### Fit the image to the component.

Include the rendered dimensions in your request.

### Check the image in the layout.

Generate an asset, then review the page at desktop and mobile widths.

### Give each route a preview.

Use the page’s subject as the brief. Check the crop before publishing.

## Questions

### Can Cursor generate images?

Not on its own: Cursor is a coding agent, not an image model. Once it can reach one, it generates the asset in the same edit that built the component, either with a provider API key of your own or with a pay-per-call balance like TaskFuel.

### Do I need my own API key for Cursor?

No. One TaskFuel account and one prepaid balance covers it. TaskFuel pays the provider and bills your balance, so there is no second account to open and no secret to add to the repo or to your Cursor settings.

### What does an image cost in Cursor?

From 3¢ with Flux 2 Pro up to 21¢ for GPT Image 2 at high quality. Nano Banana, Flux 2 Max and Grok Image are 7¢; Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 1.5 are 13¢. At 3¢ you can try a dozen directions for a component for the cost of one stock photo.

### Can Cursor edit an image already in the repo?

Yes. Every image model has a matching edit endpoint, so Cursor can recolour an asset, replace a background or restyle a screenshot that is already committed, and write the result back beside it.

### How does Cursor reach it?

TaskFuel connects as an MCP server, so the image tools appear alongside the rest of Cursor's tools and it calls them like any other. Nothing about your editor setup changes.
