# Financial statements API

Let your agent read company financials.

Look up income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements by ticker, taken from SEC filings. Three providers, priced per call.

Apple, annual statements, tested on 4 November 2026. Your agent shows the price for your own request before it pays.

Provider in the worked example: Otto, Financial Datasets and Finnhub.

Price shown for this route: 0.25¢ per call, from.

## What it can do

### Statements by ticker

Income statement, balance sheet and cash flow for a US-listed company, up to five annual and five quarterly periods. Each figure names its filing and date. Our test returned Apple's FY2026 year.

Price: $0.003 / ticker.

### All three statements in one call

Income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements together. You set the period and how many to return. Each statement is also a separate call at the same price. Our test returned the latest annual period.

Price: $0.025 / call.

### Statements as filed

Line items as filed in each 10-K or 10-Q, newest first, with filing dates. Our test returned FY2025 as the newest filing.

Price: $0.0025 / call.

## A real example

Tested on 2026-11-04 through Otto, Financial Datasets and Finnhub.

We asked three APIs for Apple's annual statements, one call each. Two returned the FY2026 year filed on 3 November 2026. The third returned FY2025 as its newest filing.

Your agent asked: Get the annual income statement, balance sheet and cash flow for Apple through three APIs

Returned in this test:

- Statements by ticker: FY2026 first, revenue $478.8B. Five annual years plus quarters, each figure tagged to its filing.
- All three in one call: FY2026: revenue $478.8B, net income $132.2B, total assets $404.5B, operating cash flow $145.1B
- As-reported filings: FY2025 10-K filed 31 Oct 2025: revenue $416.2B
- Source filing: Apple FY2026 10-K on SEC EDGAR
- Per call: $0.003, $0.025 and $0.0025

Charged in this test: $0.0305.

One US company, annual periods, one call per API.

## Try the API request

Use your TaskFuel API key as TASKFUEL_API_KEY in your terminal or server. Keep it out of browser code.

### 1. Check the price

This request checks the price without paying. These are the exact inputs used in the test of the first provider. The other two take ticker, period and limit parameters. Filings are added over time, so a new call can return a newer year.

```sh
curl --fail-with-body https://app.taskfuel.ai/v1/call \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $TASKFUEL_API_KEY" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data-binary @- <<'TASKFUEL_REQUEST'
{
  "url": "https://x402.ottoai.services/financial-statements?ticker=AAPL",
  "method": "GET",
  "dryRun": true
}
TASKFUEL_REQUEST
```

### 2. Run the request

Review amount_usd in the quote. To pay and run, change dryRun to false and add maxAmountUsd with that approved amount inside the same JSON object. Keep the inputs unchanged; this limit applies to one call.

### 3. Read the result

Read data.income, data.balance and data.cashFlow. Each has periods and lines; each line has cells with value, form, filed, concept and accession.

## Connect your agent

Read the [setup guide](https://taskfuel.ai/docs/setup/) and choose the connection your agent supports.

Use one TaskFuel account and prepaid balance. Inspect the provider and request quote before a paid call, then review the returned response and recorded charge.

## When to use it

### Pull the three statements for a ticker.

Your agent fetches revenue, net income, total assets and cash flow from the latest filing, with the filing and date named.

### Check where a figure came from.

One provider tags each figure with its filing, date and XBRL concept, and flags a period a later filing restated.

### Get line items exactly as the filer reported them.

Your agent reads each 10-K or 10-Q as filed, newest first, and picks the periods it needs.
